GUWAHATI: A website on Assam’s 15th century social, cultural and religious reformer Website on Vaisnavite saint Sankaradeva launchedSrimanta Sankaradeva has been launched to spread and showcase his humanitarian ideology.
The Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva (SSS), an international community engaged in spreading the Vaisnavite saint’s ideology and message around the world, launched www.sankaradeva.com here on Monday.
The website has been planned as an encyclopedic source of information about Sankaradeva, SSS president Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti said.
Noting the site has features of users creating their own documents, photos, videos, audio music among others, he said users can upload materials to the site.
It also has a social networking and live webcast facility. Sankaradeva (1449-1568) was a saint-scholar, social-religious reformer, playwright and a giant in the cultural and religious history of Assam. (PTI)
