Truck overturned resulting in a huge traffic jam

A Guwahati-bound coal truck capsizes at Shangbangla (near Nongpoh) right in the middle of the road at about 5 am on Wednesday resulting in a huge traffic jam. The truck (ML-04 A 1014) was finally pushed aside by a powerful Volvo crane belonging to Ramkys, the contractors for the four-lane road project. Vehicles were able to move only at about 8 am. The highway has become a huge challenge for the Ri-Bhoi traffic police as such incidents are a daily occurence. (ST)
