Los Angeles: The Bourne Identity star Matt Damon has bowed out of his commitment to direct the untitled drama he co-wrote with John Krasinski.
The 41-year-old actor cancelled his planned directorial debut with the drama because of a script issue, reported Ace Showbiz. Although he has decided to bow out of the directing duty, Damon is still expected to star in the USD 12 million film.
However, it is still unclear whether or not Warner Bros Pictures is still interested to develop the film without Damon serving behind the lens. Back in October 2011, it was announced that the actor has signed on to direct the untitled drama, which is reportedly set in the vein of Erin Brockovich.
The story centers on a salesman who comes to a small town where his life changes. The idea of the story is developed by Krasinski and author Dave Eggers. Damon will next be seen in Elysium, a sci-fi movie which is set 150 years in the future and will be released in the US in March, 2013. (PTI)
