Los Angeles: Rapper Kanye West is in talks to be the creative director on a live action The Jetsons movie that is still in the development stage.

The 34-year-old ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker is in early negotiations to serve as the creative director for the movie which is based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon about a futuristic family, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Amid a series of Twitter rants about his fashion career and the launch of his new company, West spilled the beans that he’s been in talks to join the movie. “I was just discussing becoming the creative director for the Jetson movie,” he tweeted. Following West’s revelation, producer Denise Di Nove confirmed that the rapper has indeed shown interest to join the upcoming movie.

“Kanye’s always been a Jetsons fan, I think because he’s so into design and he loves the design aspects. So we had a fun brainstorming conversation. We heard that he knew we were working on The Jetsons. He reached out and said he’s a huge Jetsons fan,” said Di Nove.

The Jetsons revolves around the travails of George Jetson, wife Jane, daughter Judy, son Elroy and their dog, Astro. The upcoming live-action version will be directed by Robert Rodriguez. No actors have been attached to the film which still hasn’t got a release date. (PTI)
