ITANAGAR: Three persons were injured and a house was gutted in fire during a turf war between two factions of the NSCN at Chasa village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, official sources said on Monday.

The three persons were injured, including the one suffering grievous bullet injury in his stomach, in the gun battle between cadres of NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K) on Sunday, the sources said, adding a house was also gutted in the gun fire.

Security forces including Army’s 14th Rajput Regiment from Longding, a company of 19 Assam Rifles, CRPF and local police reached the village to contain the situation.

The guns fell silent with the cadres retreating after learning about the approaching security personnel, who rescued the injured persons, the sources said, adding the seriously injured person was evacuated to Dibrugarh for treatment.
