SHILLONG: Police on Tuesday arrested four persons for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at Laitkynsew village near Sohra. Condemning the incident, the CSWO has strongly condemned the gangrape of the minor girl and lauded the Sohra police for immediately arresting the culprits and also the Laitkynsew VDP for helping the victim’s family in filing an FIR in this regard.

CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing urged the authorities to refuse bail to persons who commit rape especially on minors. “It is noticed that authorities are giving bails and anticipatory bails to persons committing rapes,” Ms Kharshiing said. (UNI)
