Five dead in train accident

Guwahati: Five persons were killed and nine persons were injured when the Delhi-bound Brahmaputra Mail collided with a stationary goods train before reaching Sahibganj station at around 5.50 am on Wednesday. One Sleeper coach of the Brahmaputra Mail derailed in the accident, NF Railway sources here informed.

The Railway Ministry has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured and Rs 10,000 to those who received minor injuries.
