Govt invites EOIs on power projects

SHILLONG: The State Government has called for Expression of Interest (EOIs) from private potential project developers for the implementation of the 75 identified power projects in various parts of the State under Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

Official sources on Monday informed that the Government has called for proposals of the seven projects below 100 MW.

Official sources also said that the projects below100 MW where proposals have been invited includes Umngot Stage II, Nonglynkien power project under Umtru River in Ri-Bhoi district, Amagam Synraje power project in East Garo Hills and Amtyrnui project in Jaintia Hills.

Official sources also informed that there are three projects below 100 MW which would be taken up in Kynshi River Basin while adding that the projects include Nongmawiar, Mawsyrpat and Mawthabah.

Meanwhile, official sources informed that the Government has called for proposal for the 35 projects below 2 MW which have been identified in East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi district, West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills.It is also learnt that the Government has called for proposals for developing the 22 projects below 10 MW which have been identified in East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills and East Garo Hills.Meanwhile, the Government has called for EOI for the ten projects below 25 MW in East Khasi Hills, Jaintia Hills, East Garo Hills, West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills.
