The importance of learning Health Education

Health Education is a subject which educates people about their health and healthy habits. It is the link of work to educate people on health. It can be explained as the standard that individuals and collection of public study to act in a method favorable to encourage maintaining or restoring health. Health education is a social science that draws from the biological, environmental, psychological, physical and medical sciences to promote health and prevent disease, disability and premature death through education driven voluntary behaviour change activities.

It is the development of individual, group, institutional, community and systematic strategies to improve health knowledge, attitude, skills and behaviour. The purpose of health education is to positively influence the health behaviour of individuals and communities as well as the living and working conditions that influence their health.

Health education is very important in our day to day life because without it, we would not learn the basics of health like eating habits, how to stay healthy, and things like that. For example, obesity is a major health issue in the human society. Without health education in our school we would not learn about things we need to know about. Health education deals with growing health concerns by tackling the present and prevalent threats to our society. It not only teaches us about our health how to stay safe from different diseases but also many other things as well like maturity how we behave in the society in our family etc. It also gives us knowledge about how to adjust ourselves in the society and in this modern and competitive world.

Health education is really very important to know the basic things about life. Every school should have this subject and make it compulsory for students so that that learn about all this things and make themselves prepared to step in the competitive world. Health education also makes us aware about the evil practices in the society that is going on like the quackery system. Many people have lost their lives due to wrong treatment. So the study of this subject will make the students and people aware of all this things so that they can prepare themselves and prevent people. Thus, health education is very important.

Therefore, it is compulsory for all the schools to make health education a major subject and make compulsory for all students so that they can learn all the things that is required to be a better citizen and protect themselves from all the unnecessary things. Through this subject students will be able to learn about different diseases and their prevention so that they can prevent themselves from the disease as there is a saying, “Prevention is better than cure”. Knowledge of this subject can help a person in many ways.

So therefore, it is hoped that health education would make a meaningful impact on the students which in turn would convert them into true advocates of a healthy society.
