BCCI Women’s tourney
SHILLONG: Defending champions Chattisgarh beat Manipur by eight wickets in the BCCI Associate & Affiliate Member’s Senior Women’s tournament here on Tuesday.
Manipur won the toss and elected to bat first only to score a paltry 81 for the loss of 10 wickets in 45.1 overs. Bidyalakshmi scored 20 for the batting side while Priya Verma of Chattisgarh claimed 3 wickets conceding 17 runs.
In reply Chattisgarh romped home comfortably in 19.5 overs scoring 82 runs for the loss of two wickets. Pratima Jena scored 20 runs while Bidyalakshmi in an all round performance claimed two wickets for Manipur.
In another low scoring affair, Sikkim chased Arunachal Pradesh’s paltry total of 43 runs in just 6.5 overs to register a thumping win.
