Eastern Naga students boycott recruitment test

KOHIMA: Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Saturday boycotted the Nagaland Government’s teachers recruitment examinations in four districts of Nagaland- Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng, protesting the distribution of vacancies in the districts.

In a statement ENSF General Secretary Changsang Sotet said as per the total existing vacancies advertised, more than two thousand four hundred posts should belong to the four districts.

According to reports received here in Mon, the boycott was spearheaded by Konyak Students’ Union, the federal unit of ENSF. It had notified its federating units to attend a meeting on 23rd January next at Tuensang Headquarter to discuss further course of action on the matter.

Reportedly, the student body may even boycott the Republic Day celebration in the four districts.

However, no untoward incident had been reported following the boycott. Eastern Nagaland comprises the districts of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng. (UNI)
