Guwahati: Claiming there was no base of any militant outfit of north eastern region of India or Maoists in his country, Bhutan Prime Minister Jigme Y Thinley on Sunday said that he will not tolerate any anti-Indian activity on their soil.

“After Operation All Clear in 2003, no N-E militant outfit has set up base in the country,” Thinley told reporters during a brief stop-over at the airport here enroute to Bhutan.

“Bhutan will not tolerate any presence of militants from Assam or any other north eastern states of India,” he said.

Bhutan was taking all security measures since ‘Operation All Clear’ in 2003 to ensure that there are no militant activities in the country, he added.

The Royal Bhutan Army had launched ‘Operation All Clear’ in December 2003 to flush out ULFA, NDFB and KLO militants who had set up bases in that country. (PTI)
