Two dead in road mishap
Two unidentified male died after the tourist sumo(ML 05D 5094) they were traveling in was involved in an accident with an empty truck (AS 01DC 2562) at Ryndang Briew, National Highway 40 here on Monday afternoon.
One commits suicide
One person identified as Dadi Ram Chettri (55) committed suicide by hanging himself in Lum Dorbar, Upper Lumparing here on Sunday. According to the police, he was an alcoholic and committed suicide due to family problems.
Republic Day celebrations
The official Republic Day celebration would be held at Ground No 2 at Polo on January 26. The seat for the public will be on the southern side of the ground and people have been requested to enter through the green gate opposite the Polo parking lot.
Bike Rally
As part of the National Voters Day celebration, the Election Commission of India and the District Election Officer would organise a bike rally with RERAM on Wednesday. The rally will start from the State Central Library.
