NCP MDC quits

From Our Correspondent

TURA: The NCP MDC from Rongrikimgre constituency of South Garo Hills, Willy D Shira, has resigned from the party and submitted his resignation to the president of the district NCP in Baghmara on personal grounds. His resignation pushes the NCP down to eleven in the 30-member (29 directly elected+ 1 nominated) House. The Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) does not have the anti-defection law in place to prevent MDCs from changing sides regularly.
