London: Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has donated USD 50,000 to The Trevor Project charity after raising the sum by working on the trading floor of a global financial services company.

The 31-year-old ‘Keeping with the Kardashians’ star gave the money to project, which provides suicide prevention services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) teenagers.

She raised the sum during a fundraiser in New York City in September 2011, where she was put to work on the trading floor of the global financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald.

“The firm lost more than 600 employees in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 and on the 10th anniversary of the attacks, they donated all revenues from their trades to charities around the world. I was honoured to take part,” Kardashian wrote on her Blog. A range of famous faces have been vocal in their support for the Trevor Project, including Kevin McHale, ‘Harry Potter’ actor Daniel Radcliffe, who received an award from the organisation last year recognition of his work for them – and singer-songwriter Adam Lambert.

Last month, Lady Gaga was given a Hero Award by the company at their annual Trevor Live event. (PTI)
