KOHIMA: The ‘Indefinite shutdown’ called by the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) continued in all the four districts of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng for the fourth day on Saturday as Government failed to make any “positive response” towards its charter of demand.

According to sources as part of the ENSF phase II agitation, all Government offices and vehicles remained closed, except administration, security forces, mass media, bank, hospital and pharmacy.

The ENSF said it was prepared to launch phase III agitation after January 28 across eastern Nagaland that would be even more “severe and stringent” and added it would not compromise with its stand.

Sources said in Kiphire, three Government vehicles were seized and five offices locked by United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) volunteers on Friday.

USSC said despite restriction for Government vehicular movement, the seized vehicles were found moving in town, adding that offices were also locked for not cooperating. The USSC President informed that the bandh was called not only by the student community but also a “people’s movement.” (UNI)
