Donation towards church

JOWAI: Members of the Catholic Church from twelve parish under Diocese Jowai has contributed Rs 1.6 lakhs to Mawprem Catholic Church that was completely destroy in a fire incident recently.

The contribution was generated during the 6th Eucharistic Procession, Jowai diocese which was held at Phramer Parish on Sunday in which over thirty thousand belivers attended the holy Eucharistic mass and the Eucharistic procession.

The main celebrant at the Eucharistic mass was headed by Diocesan Administrator, Diocese Jowai, Rev. Fr. Hillarius Lamare along with twelve parish priests from various parishes in Jaintia Hills district. Speaking at the main service, Rev. Fr. Lamare informed that there is no peace on earth without God. He appealed to all believers to trust in God and maintain peace and harmony in the society. A Eucharistic mass procession was also organised from Phramer Parish to Lad-Shangpung and back to the Parish.

Mookyndeng Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. GK Warbah also delivered his sermon during the holy mass.
