108 ESA rescues injured

SHILLONG: In a series of accidents that took place all over the state on Sunday last , a vigil 108 Emergency Service Ambulance (ESA) came to the rescue of the injured and saved their lives.

A motorist and a pillion rider sustained injuries after they fell off their motorbike at Sadolpara under Dadenggiri Block, West Garo Hills on Sunday. The motorist lost balance and fell of the motorbike. The 108 ESA based at Dadenggiri admitted Aprim Sangma the motorist and Himmar Marak, the pillion rider to Dadenggiri CHC. A Mahindra Scorpio on its way to Umlieh under Mawthadraishan Block, West Khasi District skidded off the road and fell into a gorge on Sunday. The 108 ESA based at Markasa admitted Dalu Shutia (21/male) to Mairang CHC. Drew Bina and Eberious Nongkhlaw both pedestrians sustained injuries when they were hit by a vehicle while walking on the roadside at Mawlyngad under Mawryngkneng Blockon the same day.The 108 ESA based at Smit admitted the injured to Bethany Hospital.

Meanwhile, Butu Singh while walking on the roadside at Them Bijoy near Bawri Netralaya was hit by a car and sustained injuries on Sunday last. The 108 ESA based at Shillong Civil Hospital admitted the injured to the hospital.
