NONGPOH: The Joint Action Committee (JAC), a conglomerate of four frontal NGO’s in Ri-Bhoi District, which is organising protest against the State Government’s decision to recognize the Marngar Tribe as the Bhoi Schedule Tribe on Wednesday clarified that they are not opposed to those Marngar Community residing all over Khasi -Jaintia Hills in the State, but only the Marngar residing at Raid Marngar.
General Secretary of the JAC David Kharnaior, informed that the issue is being taken to oppose the Bhoi ST status to the Marngar who are residing in the Raid Marngar.
