Langsning down Kerala outfit 3-1

SHILLONG: Three goals in last ten minutes helped Langsning beat Kerala’s Golden Threads 3-1 in the 2nd division I-League match played at Delhi’s Ambedkar Stadium on Thursday.

Golden Threads scored in the 15th minute when Shemeer AJ’s, 20-yard shot had Langsning custodian stranded.

With Golden Threads having the better time on the field in the first half they failed to capitalise on the chances that came their way. At lemon break Kerala outfit was leading by a solitary goal.

The start of the second half saw Langsning dominating the game and Shin Ho Jun restored parity in 59th minute off a free kick from outside the top of the box.

Aliad K Kynta helped the Langsning take the lead in the 65th minute as his sizzling right footer had Jennesh Thomas diving in vain.

Langsning didn’t have to wait much to increase their lead to 3-1 as four minutes later Shin ho Jun found the back of the net to seal the fate of the game in his teams favour.

Ailad K Kynta of Langsning was adjudged man of the match for his sterling performance.

In Silchar, Bhaichung Bhutia’s United Sikkim FC beat Bhawanipore FC 3-2, Gauhati Town Club beat Quartz FC 4-0 in Cuttack while Kalighat MS beat Techno Aryan FC 2-1 at the same venue.

In the match between Youngs and Luangmual FC, till full time, both the teams failed to break the deadlock. The best chance of the match came in the 35th minute when Young’s Ravi Jugde tripped Malsawm Tluanga in the penalty area.

But Denghming Thanga muffed the opportunity, when he kicked straight into the hands of Young’s custodian Varinder Singh. (With inputs from agencies)
