SHILLONG: The Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) has informed that the Municipal Tax for the year 2012-13 has been prepared and will be dispatched to the tax payers within the Shillong Municipality in due course of time. However tax payers are requested not to wait till receipt of the bills but they can go to the SMB Office and pay their tax before March 31 to avail the rebate facility. Arrears of the preceding years must be cleared before the above mentioned date or a penalty at the rate of 4% will be imposed.
