Charas worth Rs 25 lakh seized from train

GUWAHATI: At least 25 kg of charas worth over Rs 25 lakh in the international market was seized by the Customs department from a Jammu-Tawi train in Guwahati railway station here on Saturday.

On a tip off, the anti-smuggling squad of the Customs here launched a search operation and seized the charas from under a seat in the train, officials said.

The contraband drugs were wrapped in plastic sheets in blocks inside a bag. A search operation has been launched by the CID to trace the source of the drugs, officials said. (PTI)
