Documentary film on Tankhul art released

DIMAPUR/ KOHIMA: A documentary film ‘The Dying Giant’ produced by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), was officially launched at Dimapur on Wednesday afternoon. Sources said the film directed by a journalist Ngathingkhui Jagoi aims at highlighting the traditional art form of carrying heavy load of paddy bag after a harvest amongst the Tangkhul tribe of Manipur. It is considered as a competition to find out the strongest man of a village. The bag weighs over 300 kgs which is to be carried home from the field around 5 kms away. (UNI)
