SHILLONG: In the ongoing Second Division Shillong Cricket League 2012, organized by the Shillong Cricket Association (SCA), Paltan Bazaar and Pinewood emerged as winners in their respective matches played on Thursday. Paltan Bazaar defeated Young Star by 6 wickets while Pinewood got the better of Desari by 5 wickets in their respective league encounters played at the Cricket Ground, Polo.
In the first match, Young Star won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 104 in 20 overs losing all wickets. Prakash scored 20 in 25 balls while Azad took 3 wickets for 19 runs. In reply, Paltan Bazaar achieved the target of 105 runs in 16 overs losing only four wickets. Afnam scored 41 runs of 42 balls. In the second match, Desari won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 110 in 19.4 overs losing all ten wickets. Raj scored 32 in 40 balls while Pinku took 3 wickets for 10 runs. In reply, Pinewood achieved the target of 111 runs in 18.2 overs with the loss of five wickets. Binayak scored 21 runs at a run a ball while Raymond took 2 for 19 runs.
