Horticulture is a viable income source: Tuki

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has urged for taking up horticulture as a viable source for sustainable income generation in the state.

Tuki who visited Mengio circle in Papum Pare district on Friday, exhorted the youths in a rally to go for horticultural activities instead of looking for white-collar jobs, official sources said here on Saturday.

He highlighted the potential areas for growing cash crops like cardamom and various other horticultural produces.

Tuki also suggested encouraging mithun (local buffalo) development scheme which has enormous scope in the region. “You have ample scope to be self-employed,” Tuki said while assuring to provide assistance to encourage the locals to take up these prospects. (PTI)
