SHILLONG: A coal laden truck on its way to Guwahati went off the road and fell into a gorge at Pahamrioh, Ri Bhoi District on February 10 . The 108 Emergency Service Ambulance (ESA) based at Nongpoh admitted Paul Sumer (28/male) and his son Bishar Kyndait (6) to Shillong Civil Hospital. One person died on the spot following the accident.

In another incident, Brestar M Sangma (35/male) sustained injuries after he fell off a moving vehicle at Chiading under Samanda Block, East Garo Hills District on February 10. The incident took place when the truck had just left the Chiading market. The 108 ESA based at Williamnagar admitted the injured to Williamnagar Civil Hospital.
