Ganja worth Rs 2.45 Lakh seized

Kohima: The Narcotic Cell of the Nagaland Excise Department recovered 170 kilograms of contraband ‘Ganja’ from a taxi on Thursday afternoon at Chumukedima near Dimapur on the National Highway 29.

According to official sources here today the seizure was made following receipt of specific information.

The suspected vehicle was speeding towards Dimapur when undercover Excise personnel tried to intercept it a point between Patkai Bridge and the old forest check post at Chumukedima.

The Excise personnel gave a chase, when the occupants of the vehicle, believed to be two, in a Nagaland registered taxi, stopped and escaped, abandoning the car. (UNI)
