KSU sets up new working cells

SHILLONG: The newly elected members of the KSU in its first CEC held at its office at Jaiaw here on Friday decided to create new working cells while strengthening the available ones to bring about order in the manner of working at the same time to address various issues in the state.

The new cells include—the Employment and Generation Cell which will be headed by Frederick Kharmawlong as its chairman and Lambo Starwell Marngar as its secretary, Environment and Protection cell to be headed by Joe Joplin Marbaniang and Wallambok Kharsati as the chairman and secretary respectively.

The other cells include—Farmer and Consumer Protection Cell headed by Peter Lawai and K Marbaniang, Organizing and Education Cell besides others.

New Incharge were also appointed on this day to look after their respective districts. The incharge of West Khasi Hills unit is John F Nongsiang, L Marngar and Joe Marbaniang, the incharge for North Khasi Hills unit (Ri Bhoi) are Rudy Lyngdoh Tron, M Thangkhiew and T Kharmawphlang, incharge for Jaintia Hills unit include S Niangti, O Suting, D Thabah and Peter Lawai, incharge for South West Khasi Hills unit are K Kharlyngdoh, K Marbaniang, W Kharsati and S Nongkhlaw, incharge for South Khasi Hills unit (Sohra) include Eric Kharjana and M Nongpluh and incharge for South Central Khasi Hills unit (Pynursla) are B Warjri and SL Mawphlang.

The members also asked the government to implement the Right to Education (RTE) Act soon.
