Guwahati: A large quantity of RDX was recovered from Majuli in upper Assam’s Jorhat district late Sunday night.
Police on Monday said the explosive was dug out from under a tree during an operation carried out by personnel of Jengramukh police station based on a tip-off. RDX weighing 1.90 kg was recovered from the spot. Police suspect that the RDX belonged to insurgent outfits and was likely to be used for explosion in public areas.
PLA cadre nabbed in Manipur
A People’s Liberation Army (PLA) cadre was nabbed on Sunday by troops from Bishenpur district, official sources today said. Indian currency Rs 14,215, five CDs and one mobile phone were recovered from him and handed over to Thoubal police station. (UNI)
