SHILLONG: The KHADC has approved a Vote on Account of Rs 16.31 crore for the first quarter of the 2012-2013 financial year during the final day of the Council budget session on Thursday.

The fund allocation which was earmarked in the Vote on Account included Rs 4.12 crore for the General Administration Department, Rs 1.16 crore for Forest Administration Department while Rs 87.28 lakh has been earmarked for Revenue and Finance Department.

The Executive Committee (EC) was unable to present the full budget for 2012-13 as the District Council is yet to receive its share of taxes and royalties from the State Government for the various mineral resources which are due for the period of 2011-2012.

“The income mentioned above is the backbone of the Council’s revenue, excluding professional tax, trade and others,” War said.

The EM in charge Finance had also informed that the full budget of the year 2012-2013 would be presented at the end of the first quarter in June.
