Examination fever has gripped the city with various academic examinations underway from mid February onwards. Students all over the city are busy preparing for their respective examinations and the busiest are those students who will be appearing for their upcoming SSLC and HSSLC examinations.

A student from a city-based school said that SSLC is the first major examination in a student’s life.

“This is a big examination and naturally there is a certain degree of nervousness,” she said.

Such nervousness is also seen in other students who will be appearing for their SSLC examination beginning March 5. These students are spending long hours in their studies with the exams knocking at their doors.

“I generally study at night and practice Mathematics during the day,” said a student of another city-based school who said that she devotes at least 10 hours a day for her studies.

Most of these students are maintaining a time schedule as their examination dates are almost due. It has been seen that students mainly keep their early morning hours for memorizing with the day for practicing mathematics and night hours for revision. Besides their daily time schedule these students also attend their tuition classes while adjusting their time schedule and sleeping hours.

The examination fever has not left the Degree students untouched. “I have to score well in my BSc Final examination since I want to pursue Post Graduation in Biotechnology,” he said.

These examinees also admit that they are under a lot of stress and they have to sometimes take medicines to keep away stress. A student admitted that he was taking some Ayurvedic medicines to keep up his memory level. An SSLC candidate said, “I take some medicines, mild homeopathic ones, to keep up the mind and body equilibrium.”
