State enhances grant in aid for deficit colleges

SHILLONG: The State Government has enhanced the grant in aid for adhoc colleges of the State.

The decision to this effect was taken at the Cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday.

Education Minister Dr RC Laloo informed after the Cabinet meeting that the grant in aid for the seven deficit colleges in the State has been enhanced by Rs 11,80,204 to Rs 36,65,131. Dr Laloo also informed that 75 per cent of the grant in aid would be borne by the State Government while the remaining 25 per cent would be borne by the respective managing committees of the colleges.

The Education Minister also stated that the respective managing committees have already committed their 25 per cent contribution in the grant in aid.
