N-E Philatelic exhibition ends

SHILLONG: Raymus Wahlang came out with flying colours securing the 1st rank in the categories of Traditional Philately, Thematic Philately and One Frame Exhibits in the North East Philatelic Exhibition – NEPEX 2012 organized by the Department of Posts, Government of India.

The North East Philatelic Exhibition, which was inaugurated by Meghalaya Governor RS Mooshahary on February 27, concluded on Wednesday.

AND Kachari, former Chief Post Master General (was the chief guest in the closing ceremony.

In the Traditional Philately category Dr P Rajmani Singh and Dr C Satyajit Rao bagged the 2nd and 3rd rank, respectively. Dr Rao also bagged the 1st rank and Dr Singh the 3rd rank with Vishal Sanganeria 2nd rank in the category First Day Covers & Special Covers. Dr Singh even bagged the 3rd rank besides Vinay Kumar Sharma 2nd rank in the category of One Frame Exhibits. In Thematic Philately categpry Lawrence Lyngdoh and Camelia Lyngdoh bagged 2nd and 3rd rank. In the category of Youth (13-14) years Meghna Mech and Calvin A Raja bagged the 1st and 2nd rank respectively and in the category of Youth (17-18) years Janardhan R Massar, Sritapa Dam and Evenzer Yury Shangpliang bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank, respectively.
