Mumbai: Walt Disney stars Mickey and Minnie Mouse not only bring delight to kids but they can also be an inspiration for fashion designers.
The classic cartoon characters got a new avatar on the Indian ramp on the second day of the Lakme Fashion Week here as designers Little Shilpa and Nitin Bal Chauhan displayed their collections last evening. Shilpa’s collection had bows, polka dots, stars, hearts, which are all associated with Mickey and Minnie. She paired striking pieces of garments with headgear and neckpieces, and attempted shoes and bags for the first time.
Nitin’s show opened to the strains of a lone trumpet player on the ramp with a cafe backdrop. The designs were for both women and men. The collection had some heavy-duty jeans and tees with images of Mickey Mouse. At the end of the show, a Minnie Mouse walked down the ramp, blowing kisses all around. (PTI)
