State-level science, environment fair

 SHILLONG: A two-day “State-level Science and Environmental Fair 2012” organized by the State Council of Science, Technology and Environment (SCSTE) at Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides premises here on Tuesday witnessed the participation of around two hundred students from about 39 blocks of the state.

The fair which is celebrated as part of the National Science Day saw various science and environmental promotional activities being held besides other attractions of the programme which include “Night Sky viewing” and “Eco Games”.  Speaking on the sideline of the function, Programme Member Secretary, SCSTE RD West said that such fair will help to inculcate among the students and the general public to have an in-depth understanding of various scientific improvement that takes place adding that the ultimate goal is to generate scientific citizens and environmental consciouscitizens. It will also help the students become scientific- thinking people.
