Software technology park in Mizoram soon

AIZAWL: With the development of science and technology, the tiny state of Mizoram is also trying it hard in this field.

According to an official source, Software Technology Park of India (STPI) will soon be established in Mizoram.

Mizoram Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Minister Zodintluanga today said that all necessary arrengements for this purpose have been taken by the govt in full throttle.

In connection with the issue, Principal Secretary S.S Garbayal and other officers from the Department of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) had a meeting with officials from Mizoram in Aizawl on Friday.

The central govt had earlier informed the Mizoram government that it would need 3000 sq ft and 3 acres of land for the establishment of the park for which the state govt had temporarily alloted 3700 sq ft building at Ch. Chhunga Terminal Building, Thuampui in Aizawl and 5 acres of land at Mizoram University campus, Tanhril. In this connection State’s ICT minister Zodintluanga along with officials from New Delhi will visit these places on Monday.

It can be mentioned that Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is an autonomous organization to cater to the needs of software industry created by Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Government of India with its Head Quarters in New Delhi and centers at the various locations in the country. STPI acts as a single window solution provider for industries in Information Technology.

It provides infrastructure facilities including High Speed Data Communication connectivity required by IT industry on one hand and it solicitates all the approval required by this industry to execute the projects of software exports with the minimum gestation period, on the other hand.(NNN)
