Mumbai: Actor-producer Aamir Khan turned 47 Wednesday and celebrated his big day with journalists at his residence here.

“I am humbled that you all are here to wish me. My day starts with you, with your good wishes,” said an overwhelmed Aamir who welcomed the media outside his Pali Hill residence. He cut a cake and spoke to reporters.

“I would thank god who has given me all the success and happiness that god has showered on me in my personal life. We were recently blessed with a kid named Azad so I am thankful to god,” said the actor, dressed casually in shorts and a T-shirt.

With each passing year, Aamir looks younger and says that it is all because of his parents’ genes.

“There is no secret behind this. I would only thank my ‘ami’ and ‘abbajaan’ who has given me these genes. Whatever we are, it is given by our parents. I try to live a healthy life,” he said. Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s fans will have to wait for some more time before his upcoming film, Talaash hits the theatres as its release has now been pushed to December, apparently due to the actor’s pre-occupation with his debut television show.

Directed by Reema Kagti, Talaash, stars Aamir, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles and was scheduled for a January, 2013 release which got postponed to June and then subsequently for the year end.

“Talaash is very close to our heart. We had earlier tried to release it in January but that time the director needed some time. Later we were to release it in June, but now that has also got delayed. The film would release now on November 30 or December 7,” Aamir told reporters.

“I apologise for the delay, as I know they (fans) have been waiting for it,” he said.

The release date of the film got pushed due to Aamir’s debut TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which is expected to go on air in two months.

“As you know that there was a fire on the sets of the TV show, so things got delayed for the show and hence the film got delayed,” he said.

“Now the shooting of the show would have an impact on Talaash. I did not want to do both at the same time… I wanted to do justice to both,” he added.

The 47-year-old actor discussed the issue with the movie makers and got the release date pushed ahead.

“I wanted to give time to the film as this is my first film after Dhobi Ghat…I would be seen in a film after almost two years. I want to make this film good and enjoyable…want people to like it,” he said.

Aamir, who would be seen as a baddie in the third instalment of hit film series Dhoom, says, he is not mentally prepared for the film. “I have started preparations for Dhoom 3. For my role I have began working on the physical side,” Aamir told reporters here.

“But I am not mentally yet prepared,” he felt.

Dhoom series centres around bike chases, handsome thiefs and daring theft plans. After the success of Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2 (2006) there is much buzz about the third part.

Aamir would play the bad guy, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra would reprise their roles of Jai and Uday respectively.

The 47-year-old actor would feature opposite Katrina Kaif in the film, directed by Victor Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. It is set to hit cinema houses in 2013. (Agencies)
