SHILLONG: Riatsamthiah SCC defeated defending champions Lawmali SC by 44 runs in the inaugural match of the Super Division Cricket League played at the Cricket Ground, Polo on Friday.
Riatsamthiah won the toss and opted to bat first. The Lawmali bowlers were upto the task and restricted their opponents to a modest 140 in the alloted 40 overs.
Sanki scored a steady 41 while Babloo Passah 3/18 was the pick of the bowlers.Riatsamthiah kept Lawmali SC at bay with their splendid bowling and supported by some excellent fielding the batters were restrictricted to 116 for the loss of 10 wickets in 31.2 overs. Washid 3/12 was the most successful bowler for his side.
