Rupert Grint to star in The Drummer

Los Angeles: Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and actress Chloe Moretz have joined the cast of upcoming film “The Drummer”.

The movie is based on the true story of The Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson.

Grint is set to star as the iconic drummer’s friend Stan while Moretz is cast as his daughter Jennifer, reported Aceshowbiz.

The indie music biopic will be directed by Randall Miller. Grint and Moretz will join Aaron Eckhart, who has already been locked to play Wilson.

The film also stars Vera Farmiga who will portray Fleetwood Mac’s singer-songwriter Christine McVie.

The Drummer focuses on Wilson’s life in the last six years before he passed away in 1983. In addition to working behind the lens, Miller serves as the screenwriter and producer along with Jody Savin. He start filming for the biopic on June 15. (PTI)
