Shillong: Assembly Speaker Charles Pyngrope on Friday adjourned the Assembly session sine die.
Earlier, the Meghalaya Appropriation Bill (No.II) Act 2012 was passed on the last day of the Budget Session.
A sum not exceeding Rs 7601 crore has been allocated to the different Government departments towards defraying the several charges which will come in course of payment during the financial year ending on March 31, 2013.
Apart from the Meghalaya Appropriation Bill (No.II) Act 2012, the Meghalaya Heritage Bill, 2012, the Meghalaya Fire and Emergency Services Bill, 2012, the Meghalaya State Finance Commission Bill, 2012 and the Meghalaya Private Universities (Regulation of Establishment and Maintenance of Standards) Bill, 2012 were also cleared.
The House also passed various amendment bills including the Meghalaya (Sales of Petroleum and Petroleum products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants Taxation) Amendment Bill, 2012, the Meghalaya Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2012 and the Meghalaya Municipal Amendment Bill, 2012.
The 11-day Budget session which began on March 9 debated on several issues pertaining to illegal collections of toll along the National Highways, alleged encroachment of land by armed forces and a host of other issues.
Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma had also presented a deficit budget of Rs 382 crore on March 19.
