Moscow: A book titled ‘Rabindranath Tagore – Geetanjali – Musical Paoems’, which is a Russian poetic transcreation of the legendary Indian poet’s works, has been released here to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Nobel laureate.

Ajai Malhotra, Ambassador of India to Russia, launched the book edited by Tatiana Morozova and translated by Irina Prokofieva.

The book was published with the support of the Bengali Society, Russia.

Malhotra lauded the unique book which, for the first time ever, puts Tagore’s poems to western classical music notation and provides accompanying text in Russian for 60 poems from Geetanjali as well as 16 other songs written by Gurudev at different stage of his life, an Embassy statement said.
