Royal beat United in thriller

SHILLONG: In an upset of sorts, Royal CC beat United XI by four runs in a thrilling league encounter of the Super Division Shillong Cricket League played at Cricket Ground, Polo on Thursday.

Royal CC won the toss and elected to bat first. But the United bowlers were upto the task and restricted their opponents to a modest 146 for the loss of ten wickets in 38.5 overs. Veteran bowler Mark Ingty scalped three wickets while Mawlynnai Marbaniang bagged two wickets for United. Neeraj (28) was the highest scorer for Royal. In reply, Steven Lyngdoh’s half century (51) went in vain as United fell four runs short of the target. Sunny Chettri (4/21) was the pick of the bowlers for Royal.
