Tribute to Bhupen Hazarika

The Bangiya Sahitya Parishad will organize a talk cum musical demonstration performance on the life works, creation, contribution of late Bhupen Hazarika at Bangiya Sahitya Parishad Bhawan in Jail Road on April 1 at 10.30am.

 Entrance exam

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication will conduct the all India entrance examination for admission in PG diploma courses for 2012-13 sessions. The last date for submission of application is April 20 and the entrance test will be conducted on May 21 at IIMC, Aizawl.

Dry Day

The deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills has declared April 6 as a Dry Day throughout the district on account of Good Friday. All IMFL shops, bars, hotel, outstill shops and bonded warehouses shall remain close on the said date.

Seng Khasi Sein Raij

The Seng Samla Seng Khihlang will observe the 25th anniversary of the youth of the Seng Khasi Sein Raij at Bataw village, Elaka Rymbai in Jaintia Hills from April 20 to 22.

Assembly of God

The Shillong Assembly of God Church will be dedicated by Rev Moses Murry, the general superintendent of the Assemblies of God of East India on Sunday.

ATM facility

The Indian Overseas Bank has been rendering hassle- free banking to its customers since 1976. To meet the long cherished demand of its customers for ATM service, the bank has installed its first ATM at ECM plaza, near Bombay Bites Restaurant at Khyndai Lad which will be formally inaugurated on April 4 at 3.30pm by its chairman and Managing director, M Narendra.

Consultation

A consultation programme will be held at St Edmund’s College for all professional social workers trained in BSW or MSW at 3.30 on April 3.

 Convocation

The 25th convocation of IGNOU is scheduled to be held in the on second or third week of April. Students who want to receive their certificate at the convocation are to register.
