New Delhi: Union Minister Virbhadra Singh has sent a legal notice to Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal who had on March 25 demanded registration of FIR and investigation into charges of corruption against Mr Singh and 13 other ministers, sources said.
Mr Singh, who is the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, had on March 27 written a letter to Kejriwal seeking unconditional apology for the ‘baseless’ charges.
In his letter to Kejriwal, the Minister had demanded that he (Kejriwal) either tender an unconditional apology to him or else be ready to face legal consequences.
During a rally by Team Anna at Jantar Mantar on March 25, Arvind Kejriwal had levelled charges of corruption against 14 union Ministers, including Mr Singh, and demanded registration of an FIR against them.In his letter to Kejriwal, Mr Virbhadra Singh said he had gone through reports quoting Kejriwal as having given a list of 14 ministers against whom charges of corruption need to be investigated.
‘You have also included my name in that list. However, it is evident that your information in this regard in sketchy and founded on inexact information,’ the minister said. Meanwhile, sources said Congress MP Jagdambika Pal has slapped a privilege notice againt Kejriwal for allegedly insulting Parliament.While confirming that he has received a letter from Virbhadra Singh as well as a breach of privilege notice served on him by Pal, Kejriwal said he would not tender an apology to anyone and that his statements against the Parlamentarians were based on facts.
