TURA: ANVC publicity secretary Ares Sengsrang Sangma has neither confirmed nor denied reported split in the outfit.

It may be noted that there have been speculations of the ANVC splitting into two factions for the past three months. The breakaway faction has been rumoured to be led by the outfit’s organising secretary Torik Jangning, who has been out of touch with the overground faction for the last one month. Speaking to The Shillong Times, the ANVC publicity secretary said, “Torik Jangning accompanied by ten cadres had moved to a safer location for security reasons and he was in constant contact with us. But for the past one month he has not been in touch with us”.

He said the ANVC on April 3 issued a one-week deadline within which Torik has to contact ANVC leadership failing which the outfit would disown him and file a missing report.
