London: Actress Keira Knightley says she is enjoying filming her new movie Anna Karenina and is excited to be juggling all the ideas about her character.
The movie sees her reunite with director Joe Wright, with whom she worked on Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, for an adaptation of the Leo Tolstoy. And Knightley, 27, said that she saw different sides of Tolstoy’s writing through the film, Femalefirst reported.
“It’s very exciting. We’re right in the middle of it. It’s totally different than this; it’s a very, very stylised version of it, and she’s a tricky character.
“I remember reading it as a teenager and just seeing the romance of it. Then all of a sudden I read it over the summer, and thought, ‘Wow. Sometimes Tolstoy actually hates her quite a lot. Is she the heroine or the anti-heroine?’ It’s an interesting thing, with all of us, we’re sort of grappling with those ideas,” she said.
The film also has Jude Law, Matthew Macfadyen, Aaron Johnson and Kelly Macdonald in pivotal roles. Anna Karenina will hit theatres on September 7. (PTI)
