Los Angeles: Actress Judi Dench’s character M, the Head of Secret Intelligence Service also known as MI6 in the James Bond film will reportedly meet her demise in Skyfall.

A source from the production team revealed that there is going to be “a fairly momentous death” in the forthcoming 007 movie since Dench is quitting the franchise, reported Ace Showbiz.

“We’ve just filmed M’s death scene. Judi Dench is leaving the franchise,” the source said. The leaked information added fuel to the previous rumors that Ralph Fiennes has been prepared as the new M in Skyfall.

Back in January, an insider at the production revealed to that Fiennes will play “a government agent, which we never get a name on, because he is set to play the new M.”

While details of what character Fiennes will tackle are still unclear, the actor himself once dropped a hint that he will indeed play a government agent.

“I’m not allowed to say that I’m a government agent. I used to be a complete nerd about the books and the detail in them. They are fantastic,” he had said.

Daniel Craig returns as James Bond in the film besides Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Albert Finney and more. Directed by Sam Mendes, Skyfall will arrive in cinemas on November 9. (PTI)
