London: Clint Eastwood is taking legal action against a furniture company for allegedly using his “name, image and persona” to sell their products.

The Oscar-winner has filed a lawsuit against Evofurniture, a website named Immod.com, and the owners of the website’s domain name Alan Finkelstein and Casey Choron.

The 82-year-old claims the defendants are selling entertainment products, ottomans and chairs named after his first and last name.

The papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week according to The Hollywood Reporter, and states that the company “are continuing to use Mr. Eastwood’s name, identity and persona for the purpose of attracting attention to the infringing products,” the Daily Mail reported.

The star makes several points in order to prove that their marketing statements refer to the movies he has appeared in.

One section suggests that his role in films such as The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, A Perfect World and Million Dollar Baby were used to sell their items.

One product description says, “When you’re invited into a person’s home, you get to see the good, the bad and the ugly. When visitors come to your home, the Clint 47” Entertainment Centre makes your family room alone look like you live in a perfect world of a million dollar baby.”

According to the publication, Eastwood wants a long-lasting injunction against using his name and image and he also desires damages that have not yet been determined. (ANI)
