SHILLONG: A Khasi lady (30) was found dead at Khlieh Iew, Iewduh on Thursday morning.
According to police, the woman was murdered by unknown miscreants at around 11.30 pm on Wednesday night.
A whole seller of vegetables, the deceased was a prominent resident of Iewduh and she lived alone.Police informed that the woman (name withheld on request) was strangulated and there were marks of sharp weapons being used. However, police could not confirm possibility of rape stating that they are awaiting medical reports. Meanwhile, police have sealed the whole area of occurrence for further investigation.
