Margao: Salgaocar came from behind to hold Mohun Bagan to an exciting 1-1 draw and split points in the I-League match, played at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda on Saturday.

Although Odafe Okolie had put Bagan in front in the 24th minute, Salgaocar fought back in the second half and equalised in the 46th minute through Isfaq Ahmed .

The draw takes Bagan to second place with 44 points from 25 matches while Salgaocar collected 40 points from 24 matches.

Mohun Bagan played Odafe and Jose Barreto upfront and Sunil Chhetri played in the midfield along with Hudson Lima Silva as they combined well together and kept the pressure on the rival defence.

Salgaocar, without their three key players, matched Bagan well as they built up their moves from the flanks.

However, they could not penetrate the rival defence.

Salgaocar scored when Maxime Belouet, who played well in the midfield orchestrating most of the moves, sent a through pass to Ishfaq who ran solo into the box before finding the net.
